Guided Ice Fishing in Haliburton Forest

ToDoOntario - Yours Outdoors, ice fishing at Haliburton Forest

With over 100 lakes full of natural and stocked fish populations, Haliburton Forest is an ice fisherman’s dream backwoods destination for lake trout, brookies and rainbows.

Avid outdoorsman and lifelong angler Steve Lukacic will guide you on the many fishable lakes and 400kms of snowmobile trails throughout Haliburton Forest’s 100,000+ acre property. Bringing 30+ years of fishing experience and invaluable local knowledge with you out on the ice—he has stories to tell and spots to hit! Check him out on Instagram – click here

For experienced and adventurous anglers, snowmobiles are required to access many of the most remote backcountry lakes. You can bring your own snowmobile or ATV or rent a snowmobile from Haliburton Forest. Click here for rental information. Please note rentals are more readily available on weekdays.

If you’re new to ice fishing and don’t own a snowmobile or have the budget to rent one, lake access on foot or via snowshoes can also be arranged. (Distances vary from 100 metres up to 2 km. A shuttle can also be arranged to some locations at additional cost.)

Sustainability is a founding principle of the guided fishing experience at Haliburton Forest. We have an active fisheries management program to ensure that there will be great fishing for many years to come.
