Haliburton Forest Sawmill Tour

ToDoOntario - Haliburton Forest sawmill tour
At Haliburton Forest, they are proud of their involvement in the timber industry, and they are happy to share this knowledge about the land and wood processing with the public. Accordingly, they are able to offer tours of our forestry operations and of the sawmill.

The Sawmill is the core operation of our Forest Products division. It is a mid-sized hardwood mill producing approximately 25,000 boardfeet per day. The primary species are Hard maple but they also manufacture lumber from any of the hardwood species that grow in the 100,000 acres that we own and manage at Haliburton Forest.

As an extension of its forest, all products generated at the Haliburton Forest sawmill are certified by the internationally recognized Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®) as using only timber from their sustainable forestry operations, a designation rarely achieved on this continent. This assures customers that the highest level of environmental and social care is being taken in the generation of all wood products at Haliburton Forest.

Sawmill tours run every Thursday throughout the summer in July and August. Tours start at 1:00 pm. A minimum of 6 participants is required. Please also give at least 5 days notice if you are interested in this tour. Individual passes are $20 per adult, Family passes are $30 for 2 adults/2 children, 17 and under.
