Join us to welcome in the winter season at Wye Marsh.

Holiday Photos with Wodin

  • 10:30am – 11:30pm, 2:30pm – 3:30pm
  • Bring your camera and take a photo with Wodin, our Snowy Owl Educational Ambassador.
  • Guests are asked to limit crowding around the fire as part of Wye Marsh’s COVID and Fire Safety policies.

Birds of Prey Demonstration 

  • 1:00 pm
  • Meet our Birds of Prey Animal Ambassadors & their keepers in a demonstration about these beautiful birds.   

Chickadee Feeding 

  • All day
  • Bring some seeds (available at the visitor centre) with you while exploring the scenic trails and stop to hand feed the charismatic chickadees. 

Bannock Roasting 

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm
  • Warm up by the open fire while roasting bannock, a simple & delicious wilderness bread. 
  • Guests are asked to limit crowding around the fire as part of Wye Marsh’s COVID and Fire Safety policies.

Guided Snowshoe Discovery Hike 

  • 2:30pm
  • Join a Naturalist for a guided snowshoe hike along our favourite trails! Pre-registration is not required. 
  • Maximum group size is 15 people. If this maximum is reached there will be a second hike at 3:15pm. 

Trumpeter Swan Viewing 

  • All day
  • Winter is the best to view trumpeter swans at Wye Marsh.  There can be up to 50 swans in one day.

Feed the Birds Nature Craft 

  • 11:00am – 2:00pm
  • Make a fun craft to feed the birds and critters in your back yard.
  • As the craft takes place indoors, participants will be asked to sanitized hands and are required to wear a mask. Accompanying adults will be required to show proof of vaccination.

All activities listed, and admission are by donation on December 4th, 2021.
